You were saved to serve!

You were saved to serve. You are made for a particular ministry that only you can fulfill and God deserves and expects your best. This is pretty much a summary statement of your fourth purpose--Ministry.

Read this section especially close because it is both convincing and convicting. You cannot seriously read this without being moved to action. Let me give you a few highlights from lesson 29:

·You were put on earth to make a contribution.
·Whenever you serve others in any way, you are actually serving God and fulfilling one of your purposes.
·Your call to salvation includes your call to service.

If you are not involved in a local church you are robbing yourself and God of what He created you for.

· “Each of us has a role to play, and every role is important. There is no small service to God; it all matters.”
· “Today thousands of local churches are dying because of Christians who are unwilling to serve.”
· “For Christians, service is not optional. . . it is the heart of the Christian life.”
· “Maturity is never an end in itself. Maturity is for ministry. We grow up so we can give out.”
· “Study without service leads to stagnation.” (Let me say a big Amen to this!)
· “We are only fully alive when we are helping and serving others” (Mk 10:39; Mt 16:25; Lk 9:24)

One day, each of us will give an account of our lives before the judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor 5:10). God will compare how much time we spent on ourselves verses how much we invested in serving others. At that sobering time, no excuse will be a good excuse.

Now is the time to realize and put into practice that you are made for ministry. What are you doing?

Blessings on your week as you "minister for Him!"

Pastor John

PS--I will post the questions later on in the week, but feel free to add comments.
